Product Case Study

Following on from a bespoke database driven online contracts solution we delivered to multiple train operating companies, plus various bespoke database applications to specific UK councils, we were encouraged by Councils to build a similar flexible contracts management database product, specifically for UK councils. As a product, this online database application (run as a service) is available to all UK councils. The data for each council is securely stored and protected.

Many councils use Microsoft Excel to assist in the management of contracts, and so now this fully hosted and managed solution takes away the need for the past manual processes, helping councils streamline this part of their business. Furthermore, council procurement staff may now roll out this system across the council so that each department can take responsibility for their specific contracts (as appropriate).

Early adopters to the database were, and continue to be, instrumental in outlining elements of the design, ensuring the database is aligned to their working practises. As each Council works in a slightly different way, this application needs to be flexibile to adapte to meet the needs of each Council.
