Mobile Revenue Protection App Released
Arepo has been providing software services to Revenue Protection Support Services (RPSS), a subsidiary of Southeastern Railway, since 2009. The system manages revenue protection services across many of the UK's Train Operating Companies (TOCs) that issue their own Penalty Fare Notices, Unpaid Fares and Byelaws Notices. Notices are typically issued using carbon copy paper, with revenue protection staff telephoning RPSS to confirm additional information such as post code and address checks.
The latest mobile enforcement software from Arepo, MobileRP, helps Train Operators to migrate from paper-based notice issuing and revenue protection to a mobile software solution. MobileRP has been built on the Android Operating System to allow seamless deployment to the latest ticket issuing hardware, including the latest mobile printers, being utilised by TOC's Revenue Protection teams, minimising the amount of hardware staff need to carry.
The mobile software captures all notice information electronically, including customer signatures and photographic evidence (to confirm incorrect tickets for example), and the information uploaded to RPSS in real time. This dramatically reduces the time taken for notice information to reach RPSS' customer service team from days to minutes, helping to deliver a much improved and efficient service.
